The grapes grown in the Quinta de Sant'Ana benefit from an Atlantic microclimate, with cool mornings and hot afternoons. In the carefully converted cellar the ripe, handpicked grapes are used to produce distinctive wines full of fruity flavours, which vividly reflect our unique terroir.
The first-class location of the vineyards offers ideal geological and microclimatic conditions: the low-lying, cooler locations provide perfect conditions for our whites, while the steeper, warmer southern slopes ripen our reds. Variation in the soil composition and climate lead to very different growth and ripening conditions for the vines and grapes.

The word “Quinta” is Latin for “the fifth” - in the past this was the area of land used for the vegetable garden of an estate. Nowadays this ratio does not apply any more at the Quinta de Sant’Ana: it is divided into 10 hectares of vineyards, 20 hectares of woods, and the remainder orchards and wild grassland.

Our respect for all living creatures means the boundary between "cultivated" and "wild" is blurred, and conserving the estate’s fauna is a priority for us. As well as the vineyards, we have planted more than a thousand different trees, including umbrella pines, cork oaks, cypresses as well as citrus, olive, peach and walnut trees.
